Daniel Whifler was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. From an early age he was immersed in the arts

and sciences by his father, William A. Whifler, a mid-century modern architect whose residential designs paralleled those of Schindler, Eichler, and Wright. From drafting table to job site, Daniel Whifler followed and learned the process of design and construction, and the art of architecture.

But it was to be the art of music that Whifler first chose to pursue as a young adult. After graduating from Boston's Berklee College of Music with a degree in Traditional Composition and an emphasis on Recording Engineering, Daniel performed as a professional musician, first in the Northeast and then Southern Florida.

After a period of years working in music, Daniel Whifler returned to his roots, he moved back to California and built a career in a different kind of architecture, movie production design.  The rest is IMDB history.

His work is voluminous.  Over the last eight years, Daniel Whifler,  has production designed over forty movies, fashioned over 280 sets, and brought the magic of his trained eye to countless locations.  Before his recent 40 film marathon, Dan Whifler spent years production designing several TV series, made for TV movies, and feature films.  Design and creation are in his blood.
